Brasília, 15 August 2023 – On 24 August, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Brazil holds an event to commemorate the launch of the Report on Integrity and Compliance in the New Law on Procurement and Administrative Contracts. The event will take place on 24 August at the Federal Court of Auditors (TCU) in Brasilia and was streamed online on the UNODC and TCU YouTube channels.

The initiative takes place in the scope of the UNODC project "Global Action for Business Integrity" and aims to present the main findings of the UNODC Report on Integrity and Compliance in the New Law on Procurement and Administrative Contracts as well as the Integrity Risk Matrix, developed by UNODC, which can serve as a useful tool for different government bodies at national, state, and municipal levels.

In Brazil, the project aims to encourage interinstitutional cooperation to stimulate risk assessment, including an environmental, social, and governance (ESG) perspective, as well as the development of compliance programmes aligned with the various risks present in public procurement and contracts.

The event is supported by the Federal Court of Auditors, the Office of the Controller General of the Union (CGU), the National Council for Internal Control (CONACI), and the Association of Members of the Brazilian Courts of Auditors (ATRICON).
