An informal document, containing a programme for the meetings of the subsidiary bodies of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption to be held from 13 to 17 June 2022, is available here. A Guidance for participants on COVID-19 precautions is available here.
Subject to developments relating to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, it is currently planned that the session will be held in person. While registered delegates will be able to observe the proceedings online through the Interprefy platform, there will be only very limited opportunities to deliver statements remotely. To facilitate the work of the interpreters, during each three-hour meeting, only 30 minutes will be allotted to statements delivered remotely by online participants. Therefore, to assist the work of the interpreters and to avoid technical problems, delegations are encouraged, to the degree possible, to ensure that the statements are delivered by the representatives present in the conference room.
Reference is made to the Conference resolution 4/6, whereby inter alia civil society briefings shall be convened on the margins of the sessions of the Implementation Review Group. According to that resolution, in accordance with rule 17, paragraphs 1 and 2, respectively, of the rules of procedure of the Conference, the Secretariat shall invite to the briefings:
The same resolution indicates that “[n]on-governmental organizations wishing to attend a briefing shall confirm their attendance no later than ten days prior to the date of the briefing, at which time they will be allowed to provide comments in writing.”
Accordingly, invitations were sent to the above-mentioned categories of non-governmental organizations. The briefing is scheduled to be held in person at the Vienna International Centre, with the possibility of remote participation via Microsoft Teams, on 15 June 2022 at 13:15. The deadline for the submission of confirmations of attendance as well as of written comments for invited NGOs will be 3 June 2022.
