9 December 2024 – In 2003, through the same resolution (resolution 58/4) that adopted the United Nations Convention against Corruption, the UN General Assembly designated 9 December as International Anti-Corruption Day (IACD). The aim behind establishing the Day was to raise awareness about corruption and highlight the role of the Convention in addressing it.
Since then, 9 December has served as a powerful global reminder of the need to combat corruption and the critical role the Convention plays in fostering integrity and accountability worldwide.
Over the years, IACD has focused on numerous key themes and pressing issues related to the fight against corruption. The latest campaign, launching on the 2024 International Anti-Corruption Day and continuing through to the 2025 IACD, is titled: Uniting with Youth Against Corruption: Shaping Tomorrow's Integrity. This campaign underscores the vital role of young people in driving change, promoting transparency and building a future rooted in integrity.
