Participation of non-governmental organizations in the civil society briefing

Reference is made to the Conference resolution 4/6, whereby inter alia civil society briefings shall be convened on the margins of the sessions of the Group and the Secretariat shall invite to the briefings relevant non-governmental organizations having consultative status with the Economic and Social Council, as well as other relevant non-governmental organizations, which have been admitted to participate as observers in the session of the Conference previous to the briefing, in accordance with rule 17, paragraphs 1 and 2, respectively, of the rules of procedure of the Conference. In accordance with the same resolution, non-governmental organizations wishing to attend the briefing are invited to confirm their attendance no later than ten days prior to the date of the briefing, at which time they will be allowed to provide comments in writing. Since the briefing is scheduled to be held on 3 September 2019, the deadline for the submission of confirmations of attendance as well as of written comments will be 23 August 2019.
