UNCAC Implementation Review Process |
Reference is made to the Conference resolution 4/6, whereby inter alia civil society briefings shall be convened on the margins of the sessions of the Implementation Review Group. According to that resolution, in accordance with rule 17, paragraphs 1 and 2, respectively, of the rules of procedure of the Conference, the Secretariat shall invite to the briefings:
The same resolution indicates that “[n]on-governmental organizations wishing to attend a briefing shall confirm their attendance no later than ten days prior to the date of the briefing, at which time they will be allowed to provide comments in writing.”
Accordingly, invitations were sent to the above-mentioned categories of non-governmental organizations. The briefing is scheduled to be held in person at the Vienna International Centre, with the possibility to observe the proceedings remotely. The deadline for the submission of confirmations of attendance and written comments for invited NGOs will be 19 August 2024.
