Conclusion
Cybercrime investigators and digital forensics experts handle and/or otherwise process digital evidence. These professionals need to adhere to national policies and best practice guidelines to ensure the admissibility of digital evidence in courts. These policies include the technical and legal requirements needed to ensure evidence admissibility. In addition to these requirements, the harmonization of cybercrime investigation and digital forensics practices across borders is essential for investigations, which often involve more than one jurisdiction (international cooperation on cybercrime matters is explored in Cybercrime Module 7 on International Cooperation against Cybercrime).
