Information networks
For more than 10 years the Integrated Illicit Crops Monitoring System has led the development of a methodology that brings together and analyses satellite data along with social, economic and conflict maps in a geographical framework. This information is supported by national statistics and has the goal of identifying and understanding the impact of the production of illicit drugs in Colombia.
SIMCI has facilitated the integration of academic and governmental entities in research, analysis and discussion of problems that are inherent in all stages and impacts of the production of illicit drugs: impacts on the environment and the social and economic conditions of communities.
