In accordance with General Assembly resolution 75/282 and General Assembly decision 78/549 the Ad Hoc Committee to Elaborate a Comprehensive International Convention on Countering the Use of Information and Communications Technologies for Criminal Purposes, established by the General Assembly in its resolution 74/247, held its reconvened concluding session from 29 July to 9 August 2024 in New York.
At its reconvened concluding session, the Ad Hoc Committee approved a draft resolution on the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime; Strengthening International Cooperation for Combating Certain Crimes Committed by Means of Information and Communications Technology Systems and for the Sharing of Evidence in Electronic Form of Serious Crimes. The text of the convention approved by the Ad Hoc Committee is annexed to this draft resolution and it is contained in the report of the reconvened concluding session (A/78/986- A/AC.291/28).

The language consistency group, which was established during the fifth session of the Ad Hoc Committee (A/AC.291/20), continues its work during the reconvened concluding session. The Consistency Group is coordinated by Claudio Peguero Castillo (Dominican Republic), Vice-Chair of the Ad Hoc Committee. The consistency group is composed of experts nominated by the following Member States: Argentina, Belarus, Burkina Faso, China, Côte d’Ivoire, Ecuador, France, Ghana, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Russian Federation, Singapore, Sudan, United Kingdom, United States and Yemen.
