2 December 2024, Karachi  -The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), with generous funding from the Government of Canada, is pleased to announce the completion of a three week training aimed to enhance tactical and operational skills, for better airport security in Pakistan.

The three week training involved intense engagement on how to combat live threats within the airports and in an aircraft. This included how to neutralize any threats that may occur mid flight in order to maintain the safety of the aircraft, its passengers and crew.

The members of the ASF engaged in training on various elements including how to asses potential threats in ground and on flight using behavioral analysis, how to communicate amongst the security team and crew to ensure that threats are contained and finally how to engage with active threats to ensure that they are disarmed and contained.

This tactical training compliments other training engagements that UNODC has accorded to the ASF  - including classroom training on behavioral analysis, communication, threat assessments amongst others.
