Our Work
Our Mandate |
Many regions in West and Central Africa are affected by a wide range of circumstances, leaving a conducive environment for transnational organized crime, terrorism, and corruption to thrive, which is equally detrimental to economic growth and social development. UNODC's Regional Office for West and Central Africa responds to these challenges in the region, and to the call for support from ECOWAS by designing a crosscutting and multilateral strategy based on the principle of shared responsibility, where peace‐building, security sector reform, national institution building, and capacity building efforts are implemented. In compliance with UNODC's overall strategy (2021 – 2025), the office developed a tailored strategic vision for Africa 2030, including different investment areas and change enablers to bring more safety to Africa's people.
