The report highlights the latest developments and challenges posed by synthetic drugs, in particular amphetamine-type stimulants (ATS) and new psychoactive substances including potent synthetic opioids, in East and Southeast Asia. It confirms that extreme volumes of methamphetamine are being produced, trafficked and used in the region, and that the synthetic drug trade continues to diversify in 2021. The findings of this report are based on primary information submitted by the drug control agencies and designated institutions in the region. |
