UNODC is ringing in the new year with some exciting news: a new Call for Proposals is announced for the DAPC grant 2022!
The DAPC grant program utilizing funds generously contributed by the Drug Abuse Prevention Center (DAPC) in Japan, aims to benefit not-for-profit organisations in low- or middle-income countries working on evidence-based drug use prevention activities that target and involve youth. The youth from the DAPC in Japan mobilizes communities and raises funds that, in turn, the DAPC donate to UNODC, which are then awarded to selected organisations to support youth-centred activities to prevent drug use. As can be seen, this initiative is truly from youth to youth, for youth!
The activities to be funded by the DAPC grants should use evidence-based prevention approaches, as summarized in the UNODC/WHO International Standards on Drug Use Prevention, target young people, and empower youth to take more active roles in their communities in line with the UNODC Youth Initiative. More details on the full description of the thematic focus, eligibility criteria, and instructions on how to apply for the grant can be found in the Call for Proposals, published on the UNODC Youth Initiative web page. Interested applicants will need to submit proposals to a dedicated email address no later than 31 January 2022, 23:59 (CET, UTC+1h). The clock is ticking, so hurry if you’re interested!
We welcome new partnerships with organisations that seek to meaningfully engage with youth on activities that will promote and advocate for substance use prevention. If you know an eligible organisation that would be interested in benefitting from the grant, please let them know!
Lastly, we look forward to another prosperous year in reaching as many youths around the world as possible, and wish everyone a happy, healthy new year.
