The objective of this course is to improve the capacity of civil society organizations, academia, and the private sector to contribute to the implementation of the UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime (UNTOC) and its Review Mechanism in accordance with Resolution 9/1 of the Conference of the Parties (COP), specifically by improving the capacity of stakeholders to contribute to the country review process conducted through the self-assessment questionnaire.
This is a self-paced (asynchronous) online course. Participants can access study materials and complete assignments anytime during the given period. This course will also count with live forums to exchange doubts and ideas with a moderator.
The course is conducted through the UNODC Global eLearning Platform, a Web-based learning management system in which a password-protected course environment is created for the course. This platform can be accessed from any computer with internet connection. Google Chrome is the recommended internet browser. This online course is held in English.
Participants should be prepared to invest approximately 9 hours of their time into the course. The course does not have to be completed in one seating. All participants are welcome to split the workload throughout the duration of the course in the way that works best for their schedules and learning styles.
The course is based on the UNODC Toolkit on Stakeholder Engagement: Implementing the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime.
The course content includes information on the UNTOC Country Reviews, Stakeholder Engagement in the UNTOC Self-Assessment Questionnaires, Outreach to the Government Focal Point, and best practices for preparing answers to the Self-Assessment Questionnaire.
