Please note that only people who have been nominated by their organizations can participate in the Constructive Dialogue on Trafficking in Persons. Delegates participating online can be nominated through:

- The following nomination form: nomination form.

Online Participation Multi-stakeholders’ Preparation Day (9 July):

The Multistakeholder Preparatory Day (9 July) will take place in a hybrid format. All hybrid sessions will take place through Microsoft Teams. Participants will receive the link to access the sessions via email.

In-Person Participation in the Constructive Dialogue on Trafficking in Persons (10 July) and Multi-stakeholder Preparation Day (9 July):

In order to provide access passes to enter the Vienna International Center (VIC) for the Constructive Dialogue on Trafficking in Persons (10 July) and the Multi-stakeholders’ Preparation Day (9 July), we kindly ask you to send an official letter signed by your organization's head, including details (name, title/function, workplace, and individual email address) of the delegates attending the meeting in person, together with a copy of their passport or identity card until 26 June 2024 to unodc-se4u@un.org. In-Person delegates also have to be nominated through the nomination form.

Agenda Item IV: Interactive exchange on relevant activities of non-governmental stakeholders

Tour-de-table with interventions and contributions from stakeholders with a specific focus on three standing agenda items:

1. Role of non-governmental stakeholders in the universalization and implementation of the Trafficking in Persons Protocol, particularly with regard to child trafficking and trafficking in persons for the removal of organs. Suggested guiding questions for the discussion:

How can non-governmental stakeholders contribute to the universalization of the Trafficking in Persons Protocol?
How can cooperation between governmental and non-governmental stakeholders, including the private sector, be improved to support more effective implementation of the Trafficking in Persons Protocol?
What are the challenges and opportunities for non-governmental stakeholders, including the private sector, in engaging with States parties to enable stronger implementation of the Trafficking in Persons Protocol?

2. States parties’ technical assistance needs and non-governmental stakeholders’ engagement/participation, particularly with regard to child trafficking and trafficking in persons for the removal of organs. Suggested guiding questions for the discussion:

In what areas of implementation of the Trafficking in Persons Protocol should States parties and UNODC expand the engagement and participation of non-governmental stakeholders, including the private sector, in order, for example, to better inform national responses to child trafficking and child protection?
What are promising formats to ensure the meaningful participation and engagement of non-governmental stakeholders, including the private sector, in the implementation of the Trafficking in Persons Protocol.
In what parts of the Trafficking in Persons Protocol do non-governmental stakeholders see the need for expanded technical assistance to States parties?

3. Gender, youth, human rights and victim-centred approaches to prevent and counter trafficking in persons, particularly with regard to child trafficking and trafficking in persons for the removal of organs. Suggested guiding questions for the discussion:

How do gender dimensions and age factors influence the dynamics of trafficking in persons, and how should they shape national response strategies?
What role can children and youth play in countering trafficking in persons, and how can governments and other stakeholders better engage them in an ethical, safe and meaningful way in these efforts?
What do human rights-based, age-sensitive and victim-centred approaches to countering trafficking in persons look like, and what are their potential benefits and challenges?

Travel Support

If you wish to participate in Constructive Dialogue in-person, please indicate below whether your organization requires travel support. Please note that only limited resources to support the in-person participation of grassroots organizations and victim-led/focused organizations are available, and applications are considered on a case-by-case basis. Organizations that have been selected for travel support will be contacted by UNODC.

Oral Intervention

We would like to ensure a constructive and meaningful contribution of all participants.
Please note that in order to ensure a productive and result-oriented dialogue no specific country situation shall be mentioned during the Constructive Dialogue except by the country under review, which may voluntarily raise matters related solely to its own review. Reference to the work of the organization in a specific country can be mentioned.

Written contributions to the Constructive Dialogue:

As part of the Constructive Dialogue, organizations are invited to submit written contributions that are relevant to the following topics of the Agenda of the Constructive Dialogue on Trafficking in Persons.

Written contributions received in time, no later than one week after the Constructive Dialogue, will be uploaded on the dedicated webpage of the Constructive Dialogue. We highly encourage participants to submit their contributions in a written format to unodc-se4u@un.org as soon as possible.
