The UN Voluntary Trust Fund for Victims of Human Trafficking (UNVTF), managed by the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), is pleased to share the results of its eighth Call for Proposals (CfP) under sub-grant programme two (SGP2). This special Call was dedicated to supporting impactful initiatives led by frontline non-governmental organizations (NGOs) working with victims of human trafficking across the Asia-Pacific region.
The UNVTF provides multi-year grants to CSOs worldwide that provide survivor-centred support and humanitarian assistance to victims of human trafficking. Since its establishment in 2011, the UNVTF has supported more than 195 projects in over 60 countries, reaching and delivering essential aid to over 90,000 victims.
Following a thorough evaluation of 64 proposals, five projects across Cambodia, India, Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam have been awarded grants totalling up to US$ 195,945. Each organization will receive up to US$ 40,000 to implement transformative projects aimed at assisting survivors of human trafficking.
This funding cycle prioritized initiatives focused on women and children, particularly from underserved communities and vulnerable populations who are most at risk. The selected projects are expected to make a significant difference in the lives of more than 520 individuals directly affected by human trafficking.
The details of the projects are provided below:
