‘Listen First’ has become the longest project in the field of drug use prevention that has been implemented in Serbia. The Office for Combating Drugs of the Government of the Republic of Serbia has completed the first phase of ‘Listen First’, ‘The Science of Care’. In the past year, they worked together with a large number of state administration bodies (Ministry of Education, Ministry of Youth, etc.) and organizations such as the Red Cross at central and local levels of government dealing with drug abuse.
In addition to publishing pamphlets, 4.000 posters, and sharing videos on social networks and websites of state bodies, local self-government units also organized forums covered by media.
“Listen First’ offered something different from the other prevention programs, which indicates the importance of using such materials in the Republic of Serbia and other countries. Furthermore, it presents a unique opportunity for cooperation for all institutions and organizations in child education and drug policies,” said Mr. Milan Pekić, Director of the Office for Combating Drugs of the Republic of Serbia.
Serbia is currently planning for the next phase of ‘Listen First’, ‘The Science of Skills’, in 2022.
