14 June 2022 - Since its launch in 2020, the Together to #ENDviolence global campaign and Solutions Summit Series has amplified and strengthened the movement to end violence against children.
The culmination of the Together to #ENDviolence campaign and Solutions Summit Series took place at a centre-piece high-level Leaders’ Event on Tuesday 14th, 2022 – bringing together the end violence community and other critical stakeholders to celebrate progress and provide a global platform for international leaders to make the political and financial commitments needed to accelerate action.
The event hosted powerful, diverse voices from across countries and expertise – all united by a shared vision of a world without violence against children.
On this occasion, UNODC Executive Director, Ms. Ghada Waly, stated: "children (are) more exposed to exploitation both online and off, and at greater risk of recruitment by criminal and armed groups, including those that are designated as terrorist groups (...). Through our Global Programme to End Violence Against Children, we have provided technical assistance to over 50 (...) in preventing and responding to serious forms of violence against children (...). Working together, we can realize Sustainable Development Goal 16 and all of the SDGs, to leave children and young people with a more prosperous world, free from violence."
The Together to #ENDviolence Event enabled a comprehensive dialogue on the current global context, what works and what needs to be done to end all forms of violence against children and pursue a world in which every girl and every boy grows up in a safe, secure and nurturing environment.
