Pages: 47 to 76
Creation Date: 1952/01/01
A list of the more important League of Nations documents relating to narcotic drugs is given in the following pages. These documents, of which no systematic compilation has been made until now, contain a variety of information, legal, technical, administrative and the like.
Documents that were merely ephemeral, those dealing with seizure reports, or internal administrative details, etc., have been omitted. The selection was made to help the research worker; in other respects it may not be above criticism. Since most of the documents do not belong to a strictly defined category, it was thought preferable to avoid multiple references which would make the list unwieldy.
It is hoped that, such as it is, this list will be of use. All documents, except where there is an indication to the contrary, are still existing, that is, they are not out of print and can be consulted either at the Permanent Headquarters of the United Nations, or at the United Nations Library in Geneva.
The documents are classified as follows:
I. Raw materials and derivatives
A. Opium and derivatives
B. Coca leaf and derivatives
C. Indian hemp and derivatives
II. Trade in narcotics
A. Legal trade
B. Illicit traffic
III. Control
A. National
B. International
C. Systematic account of the work of the international bodies dealing with narcotics
IV. Drug addiction
