A Precursor Case Meeting (PCM) was conducted with the participation of investigators from Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan, in addition to representatives from the Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Center (CARICC), International Narcotics Control Board (INCB) and UNODC.
The meeting was held to review major investigation cases of precursor chemical seizures in 2016 and 2017, and to facilitate further development of investigations at the regional level.
During the meeting, the delegations agreed on initiating backtracking investigations and information sharing at the regional level regarding five major investigation cases. Furthermore, the countries agreed to actively use the Precursor Incident Communication System (PICS) while reporting on seizures.
The meeting was organized under the auspices of the UNODC Regional Programme for Afghanistan and Neighboring Countries, and funded by the European Union.
