UNODC-Russia Partnership on Counter-Narcotics Training for Central Asia

UNODC Programme Office in Turkmenistan within the framework of the initiative "UNODC-Russia Partnership on Counter-Narcotics Training for Central Asia, Afghanistan and Pakistan" has conducted 2-weeks mobile training for law enforcement employees on 19-30 November 2018 in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
The objective of the training is to increase technical capacity of law enforcement authorities of Turkmenistan, engaged in combating illicit drug trafficking.
Conducted by invited officers of the Domodedovo Training Center and Siberian Law Institute under the support of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Turkmenistan, the training was focused on legal aspects of drug control and combating illicit trafficking and practical classes on conducting investigative activities.
Fifteen officers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of National Security, State Customs Service and State border Service of Turkmenistan actively participated and successfully completed the training, which took place under the auspices of the Regional Programme for Afghanistan and Neighbouring Countries.
The representative of the 4 th Department, Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan noted that "knowledge and experience gained during the workshop will be used in daily work and shared with colleagues".
