Vienna (Austria) – 11 November 2024 - In less than one month, the world will celebrate International Anti-Corruption Day (IACD) 2024 on 9 December. To mark the occasion, we are calling on civil society organisations, the private sector, academia, and citizens around the world to stand #UnitedAgainstCorruption.
This year’s theme for IACD is “Uniting with Youth Against Corruption: Shaping Tomorrow's Integrity”. The campaign has been designed as a biennial campaign to highlight the vital role young people play in the fight against corruption. The campaign will seamlessly lead into the eleventh session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (CoSP11) in Doha, Qatar, in 2025 where young people will have the opportunity to present their appeals directly to world leaders, urging them to support a future where they can thrive free from corruption.
The 2024 IACD amplifies voices of integrity leaders of tomorrow, allowing them to express their concerns and aspirations, with the hope that their appeals will be heard and acted upon. While they are often the most affected by corruption, they also possess the vision and innovative ideas needed to create a future rooted in integrity. By giving youth a seat at the table and empowering them to lead anti-corruption efforts, we can foster lasting change.
Civil society organizations are the eyes and ears of society against corruption, and society’s strong participation at all levels is required to effectively fight corruption. In support of IACD 2024 NGOs can:
