Strengthening the Integrity and the Judicial System in Mozambique

In partnership with the Supreme Court and the Attorney General's Office in Mozambique, UNODC Southern Africa assisted in the implemented a programme to strengthen integrity and capacity of the court system Mozambique.  Activities included:

  • A comprehensive assessment of the judicial justice system which included an assessment of prosecutors, magistrates and Court Clerks in all the Provinces in Mozambique was undertaken; and
  • The results of the assessment were reviewed at a National meeting where an Action Planned aimed at strengthening the court system in Mozambique was developed. The assessment report and action plan are underway. The documents will be launched at a donor meeting during 2008 with the intension of information sharing and promoting the imitative for future support.
