Linking Law Enforcement and Justice Institutions
Improving and strengthening the cooperation of law enforcement and justice institutions has been named as a priority. In order to create more effective and coordinated responses to transnational crime that would result in an increased number of convictions, the countries agreed on the need to enhance inter-agency cooperation. The Regional Programme will focus on facilitating the exchange of information and the transfer of best practices in the area of prosecution-led investigations, as well as on strengthening the capacities of law enforcement agencies and prosecution offices to mount together proactive operations in the area of organized crime, including human trafficking, smuggling of migrants and child abuse.
