Regional Training of Trainers on Education for Prevention based on Life Skills Programmes in Belgrade

Belgrade, Serbia, 7 October 2024 – In partnership with Lions Clubs International Foundation, UNODC delivered a Training of Trainers (ToT) on Lions Quest Programme Skills for Adolescence which was held from 30 September to 4 October 2024 in Belgrade. The training, which brought together 18 aspiring trainers from across the South-Eastern Europe region, aimed to empower participants with essential skills to facilitate adolescent life skills through practical, interactive learning methods under the concept of education for prevention.

The five-day training covered key areas including group dynamics, communication techniques, and managing challenging situations, with participants actively engaged in practical exercises and peer feedback sessions. Facilitators provided tailored mentorship as each trainer delivered practice sessions, strengthening their presentation and facilitation techniques. The sessions also included a presentation by Prof. Dr. Dejana Bouillet on the evaluation process of the programme implementation.

Participants from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia successfully completed the training, earning certification as local trainers for the Lions Quest Programme Skills for Adolescence. The closing ceremony on 4 October featured a certificate presentation, celebrating the new trainers' readiness to support and guide adolescents in their respective communities.

This ToT session highlights the ongoing commitment to enhance youth education in the region, ensuring trainers are equipped to lead impactful programmes focused on developing essential life skills.
