Commemorating the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2013 

 

Each year 26 June is commemorated as the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. On the occasion, Ms Cristina Albertin, Representative, UNODC ROSA presents an overview of UNODC's work in the region with regard to drug abuse prevention, treatment and care and drug control.

Commemorating the day, UNODC also launches a scientific report titled: Rolling out of Opioid Substitution Treatment in Tihar Prisons, India

On this occasion, UNODC is pleased to publish stories by two journalists on drug use and trafficking in their countries. These are the result of a multimedia course for South Asian journalists which the Washington-based International Center for Journalists had conducted in Nepal earlier this year and with which UNODC had partnered.
