Nine December is the International Anti-Corruption Day. UNODC, in partnership with UNDP have since 2009 promoted global public campaigns to mark the International Anti-Corruption Day and make it a powerful day of action against corruption.
UNODC Regional Office for the Middle East (The Regional Office) and UNDP wish to continue the mobilization of the public and strengthening state and non-state actors' commitment to address corruption through International Anti-Corruption Day Campaigns. Therefore, UNODC and UNDP wish to engage the youth in Egypt, through an open competition, to develop innovative social initiatives to address and fight corruption.
The winning initiative should be:
UNDP and UNODC ROMENA wish to encourage youth engagement in the anti-corruption campaign. Therefore,
Concept notes should be sent to mona.salem[AT]unodc.org by 5 December 2013, 1700 hours Cairo local time .
Based on the above criteria, a panel of judges from UNDP, UNODC, and the National Coordinating Committee for Combating Corruption will select the two winning initiatives. The panel reserves the right not to appoint a winner and theme if the entries received do not meet the quality standards of the competition criteria. The panel also reserves the right to seek additional information from the applicants to verify the identity of the applicant(s) and the authenticity of the submission.
The winner(s) will be announced publicly through the UNDP and UNODC websites and in the joint event organized to commemorate the International Anti-Corruption Day.
The winner(s) are entitled to receive different forms of technical assistance to further develop and implement their initiatives.
