the purpose of mission was to install NDS 6 and to provide training on its use. NDS is in production use.

the purpose of the mission was to reinstall the NDS server and provide various corrections on the database.

Launch of redesigned NDS website
The NDS website has been enhanced to reflect the style of the new graphical standards used at UNODC. Also effective immediate downloads of the application are only available to registered users. Mission to Thailand/Philipines, 11 May - 17 June 2008
the purpose of the mission was to install NDS 6 and to provide training to the substantive offices.

Mission to Germany, 19 - 21 May 2008
the purpose of the mission was to follow up on the discussions during CND. Germany uses at present a system for drug control management, which however cannot communicate directly via XML with INCB (an Interface is being developed). The possibility of using NDS for domestic transaction management has been explored and comprehensive discussions on how an interface could work took place. When development of a webinterface for NDS will take place the German requirements will be helpful in building a useful interface.

Mission to Argentina/Uruguay, 14th - 25th April 2008
the purpose of mission was to upgrade NDS 5 to NDS 6 and to provide training on its use. Both countries use NDS in production.

Mission to Japan, 15th - 19th April 2008
the purpose of the mission was to follow up on the INCB informal consultation during CND. Japan uses at present a system for drug control management, which however cannot communicate via XML with INCB. The possibility of using NDS for Japan has been discussed during the presentation of the system. Also a customization of some NDS modules to Japanese language has been accomplished during the mission. It was agreed to follow up later the year on a possible implementation of NDS in Japan.

Mission to Botswana, 25th February - 5th March 2008
the purpose of the mission was to salvage the existing NDS 6 installation. Botswana has been using NDS 6, but had some difficulties due to a Virus attack on both server and client PC's (Antivirus has not been up to date). The Oracle database has not been damaged and after ensuring the systems are Virus free reinstalling Oracle components and the NDS application it was possible to carry on with the work exactly where they stopped. No data loss has occurred.

Mission to Poland, 11th February - 28th February 2008
the purpose of the mission was to install NDS 6 and to provide training in its usage The training and installation went smoothly and the staff of the Ministry of Health in Poland are now using NDS 6 in production and included data as of 1st January 2008. Also Import/Export templates were created and more than 200 establishments were migrated into NDS database from various XML sources provided by other countries using NDS.
