VIENA, Austria - abril 2024: Sobre la base de la información preliminar procedente de 16 países, en 2023 se notificaron por primera vez 31 nuevas sustancias psicotrópicas (NSP), frente a las 44 de 2022. En general, la disminución del número de NSP notificadas por primera vez, por año, observada desde 2021, parece haber continuado en 2023.
Una diferencia notable con respecto a las sustancias notificadas por primera vez en 2022 fue el mayor número de opioides sintéticos (nueve sustancias, casi un tercio de todas las sustancias notificadas por primera vez), así como el hecho de que en 2023 se notificaron por primera vez más nitazenos (seis sustancias) que análogos del fentanilo (tres sustancias).
El segundo y tercer grupo más numeroso entre las primeras notificaciones de 2023 fueron los cannabinoides sintéticos (seis sustancias), incluidos tres cannabinoides semisintéticos, y los estimulantes, con seis sustancias, incluidas cuatro catinonas sintéticas. La diversificación de los cannabinoides semisintéticos, ya observada en 2022, continuó en 2023 con la aparición del hexahidrocannabihexol, el tetrahidrocannabidiol y el tetrahidrocannabiforol. Hasta ahora, solo los países de Europa han notificado estas tres sustancias a UNODC.
Basados en la información disponible, el patrón de las NSP notificadas por primera vez cambió significativamente de 2022 a 2023. Mientras que en 2022 los cannabinoides sintéticos representaron casi la mitad de todas las primeras notificaciones y se notificaron más estimulantes que opioides sintéticos, en 2023 se notificó un mayor número de opioides sintéticos, seguidos de estimulantes y cannabinoides sintéticos n partes iguales.
En cuanto a las pautas regionales, el mayor número de primeras notificaciones al SAT de UNODC en 2023 se produjo, con diferencia, en Europa, donde se notificaron 21 sustancias por primera vez, ninguna de las cuales se notificó en ninguna otra región. Otras seis sustancias se notificaron por primera vez en América del Norte y en ninguna otra región, y cuatro se notificaron por primera vez en ambas regiones.
