The Government of Mozambique has expressed its desire to strengthen responses to criminal threats facing the country, actively reaching out to UNODC to request further assistance in building its criminal justice response. Mozambican officials have already demonstrated senior level engagement on capacity building activities organized by UNODC, including through the endorsement by H.E. the Prime Minister of the “Maputo Roadmap of UNODC engagement in Mozambique”. The Roadmap includes agreed objectives to enhance Mozambican criminal justice response to transnational organized crime and drug trafficking in conformity with human rights standards.
