UNODC works closely with the government of Mozambique and related organizations to strengthen Mozambique’s capacity in having a holistic, effective, and pragmatic response to drug use, drug trafficking, illicit trafficking, organized crime, corruption, and terrorism, through both a national and regional perspective.
The Office has established and consolidated a relationship of mutual trust with over 30 authorities and institutions, from Ministries to criminal justice and financial institutions. UNODC also works alongside Mozambican academia and civil society, leveraging their community ties and expertise in thematic areas. Such relationships have been pivotal for the successful implementation of UNODC’s projects and activities in Mozambique and will continue to be key to further facilitate work conducted going forward.
UNODC's work in Mozambique is made possible thanks to the generous resources provided by international partners, who contribute to different areas of the Maputo Roadmap. These partnerships allow UNODC to fulfill its mandate of ensuring and fostering peace, justice, and health for all in Mozambique.
