On 29 November, UNODC supported an online expert meeting to launch two new e-Learning modules for police in Kazakhstan.
These new e-Learning modules have been designed to complement the training that police already receive via the police training institutions in Kazakhstan. The modules are available in English, Russian and Kazakh languages.
“The new e-Learning courses form a part of the UNODC’s Global e-Learning Programme and will serve as important tools for the digital delivery of expert training materials to police officers in Kazakhstan”, said Ms. Wendy O’Brian, UNODC Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Officer, Vienna, Austria.
The first module covers the information that a law enforcement officer should know when responding to a crime scene, including a variety of techniques to document the crime scene and how to recognize, recover and package evidence.
The second e-Learning module is tailored to complement the work of the police modernization agenda in Kazakhstan and covers good practices in police capacity-building, including the principles of specifying results-oriented learning objectives and the methodology for evaluating the impact of the police training.
The launch of the UNODC’s e-Learning modules were conducted as part of the UNODC project on support to police reform in Kazakhstan implemented with generous support from the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) of the U.S. Department of State.
