National Drug Control System

NDS Version 5.1 is installed in Mexico
UNODC�s enhanced NDS (National Database System) version 5 has gained official governmental acceptance during the user-group meeting in Canada from 10^th - 12^th March 2003. As a response to government's acceptance of the system and previously received request a mission to facilitate the upgrade from NDS 4.05 to NDS 5.1, customization of reports and training took place.

The staff of the competent authorities in Mexico received comprehensive hands-on training on utilizing the system, especially on the new features of NDS 5.1.

The Mexican Ministry of Health is in the process to achieve a fully operational status of the NDS system and plans to use NDS countrywide by linking customs points and governmental offices around the Mexican Republic, to turn Mexico as a model installation and fully operational country of the NDS.
