UNODC e Governo do Paraguai apresentam Programa Nacional Integrado para combater o crime

30 de abril de 2011 - O ministro das Relações Exteriores do Paraguai, Jorge Lara Castro, e o Vice-Diretor Executivo do Escritório das Nações Unidas sobre Drogas e Crime (UNODC), Francis Maertens,, apresentam, na segunda-feira, 2 de maio, o Programa Nacional Integrado "Fortalecimento do Estado de Direito, da Segurança e da Justiça no Paraguai" [PNI]. O evento, que contará com a presença de autoridades do governo paraguaio, integrantes do corpo diplomático e do UNODC, será realizado às 09h, no Hotel Excelsior, em Assunção.

O PNI busca estabelecer orientações estratégicas para a prestação de assistência técnica do UNODC, em apoio às políticas do governo do Paraguai para combater o crime organizado e reforçar o Estado de Direito no país.

Elaborado com base nas prioridades definidas pelo governo, de acordo com políticas e planos estratégicos nacionais, o PNI é composto de três pilares: Crime Organizado e Tráfico Ilícito de Drogas, Justiça e Anticorrupção e Redução da Demanda de Drogas e Tratamento.

O processo de desenvolvimento do PNI começou em março de 2010 e foi realizado por meio de amplo processo de consultas interinstitucionais e junto ao UNODC. O texto final foi aprovado no início de abril deste ano pelo UNODC, em Viena, na Áustria..

UNODC and the Government of Paraguay present the National Integrated Programm to fight crime

30 April, 2011 - The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Paraguay, Jorge Lara Castro, and the Deputy Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Francis Maertens, will present on Monday, 2 May, the National Integrated Programme "Strengthening the Rule of Law, Security and Justice in Paraguay" [NIP] for the period of 2011- 2014.
The event, which will be attended by Paraguayan government authorities, members of the diplomatic body and UNODC, will be held from 9:00 am at the Hotel Excelsior, in Asuncion.
The NIP aims to establish strategic guidelines for the provision of technical assistance from UNODC, in support of the policies of the Government of Paraguay to fight organized crime and to strengthen the Rule of Law in the country.
Prepared based on the priorities expressed by the government in line with its policies and strategic plans, the NIP is composed of three pillars: Organized Crime and Illicit Trafficking, Justice and Anti-corruption, and Demand Reduction and Drug Treatment.
The process of developing the NIP began in March 2010 and was conducted through an extensive process of consultation with institutions and UNODC. The final text was approved in early April by UNODC in Vienna.
