Migration Compact negotiated at the UN guarantees international cooperation
New York, 22 January 2018 - Every migrant must have their human rights respected. With the aim of ensuring it, the UN urges greater cooperation with the management of migration processes, implementing the Global Compact for Migration. UN member states have negotiated this agreement, which will address broadly the international migration.
At the end of 2017, the UN launched its International Migration Report, a biennial publication. According to this document, there are an estimated 258 million people living in a country other than their country of birth.
