Ibero-America against traffic in persons and smuggling of migrants
Cartagena de Indias, 21 September 2017 - Twenty public prosecutors, three crown prosecutors and several experts and investigators from 17 countries participate in the III Meeting of the Ibero-American Network for Specialized Prosecutors against Traffic in Persons and Smuggling by Migrants of Ibero-American Association of Public Prosecutors (AIAMP for its Spanish initials). The Meeting was convened by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime programme Global Action to Prevent and Address Trafficking in Persons and the Smuggling of Migrants (GLO.ACT), funded by the European Union and with the support of the Spanish Agency for Cooperation, the Spanish Prosecutor Service, the Migration EU Expertise (MIEUX) project and the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD). The objective is to strengthen judicial research and cooperation, socialize good practices and build a working protocol to the Network in order to combat traffic in persons and smuggling of migrants.
