Swiss Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs meets Senior Authorities of the Islamic
Republic of Iran to discuss asset recovery.

Valentin Zellweger, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director of Directorate of International Law of Switzerland met with H.E. Dr. Alireza Kazemi Abadi, Deputy Minister of Justice on International Affairs and Mr. Meysam Nasiri Ahmadabadi, Director General of the Financial Intelligence Unit of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The parties had fruitful discussions on how to deal with corruption cases at the international level. This included procedural administrative formalities, challenges on tracking assets, mutual legal assistance, anti-money laundering measures and counter financing of terrorism. UNODC facilitated this international cooperative dialogue with the Embassy of Switzerland in Iran in support of the requirements of the United Nations Convention against Corruption on asset recovery.
