In March 2015, the Crimes Legislation Amendment (Psychoactive Substances and Other Measures) Act 2015, No. 12, 2015 amended the Criminal Code Act of 1995 and the Customs Act of 1901with regard to psychoactive substances. Following this amendment, importing psychoactive substances (exceptions were made for tobbaco products and some good within the meaning of other regulations) -within the meaning of the law- was forbidden, as well as importing substances represented to be serious drug alternatives. In the Customs Act definitions of a prohibited psychoactive substance and of a prohibited serious drug alternative were introduced for purposes of control.
