VIENA, Austria – Julio de 2024: El UNODC Amenazas Actuales de las NSP Vol. VII (Julio de 2024) presenta un análisis reciente del Sistema de Alerta Temprana (SAT) de UNODC sobre las NSP, mediante la combinación de datos de NSP identificadas en material incautado, con información toxicológica de casos de ingreso clínico, conducción bajo los efectos de las drogas (DUID, por sus siglas en inglés), agresión sexual facilitada por drogas (DFSA, por sus siglas en inglés) y post mortem (PM). Esto permite identificar avances clave en relación con las amenazas para la salud asociadas al consumo de NSP. El policonsumo sigue siendo una característica importante de los casos de NSP. Durante el periodo de recopilación de datos para este número, se revisaron 2.801 notificaciones de NSP en un total de 1.955 casos toxicológicos (21% mujeres, 58% hombres, 21% desconocidos/no notificados, <1% otros), identificándose más de 100 NSP individuales (Figuras 1 y 2).

Mientras que el fentanilo fue la principal sustancia notificada en los casos post mortem (n=333), las NSP de tipo benzodiacepínico, en particular el bromazolam y el clonazolam, se encontraban entre las diez principales NSP notificadas en los casos post mortem, siendo el bromazolam la NSP más comúnmente identificada (n=260) (Figura 3).
Además, durante este periodo de notificación también se identificaron varias NSP con efectos estimulantes en casos post mortem. Entre los estimulantes más comúnmente identificados se encontraban las catinonas sintéticas dipentilona y pentilona.[1]

Los ingresos clínicos representaron el segundo grupo más numeroso de casos toxicológicos durante el periodo de notificación actual (n=386), con 639 notificaciones de NSP. Los dos grupos de NSP más notificados dentro de este tipo de casos fueron las benzodiacepinas, con 355 notificaciones, seguidas de 100 notificaciones de estimulantes. El bromazolam (n=203), el clonazolam (n=39) y el desalquilgidazepam (n=36) fueron las tres principales NSP identificadas en más del 40% de las notificaciones de casos clínicos.
En los casos relacionados con la conducción bajo los efectos de las drogas (DUID) proporcionados durante el periodo de notificación actual, se notificaron 191 casos de NSP casi exclusivamente procedentes de América del Norte, identificándose benzodiacepinas en el 68% de los casos. Al igual que en otros tipos de casos, el bromazolam fue la sustancia más comúnmente notificada (n=66). Otras benzodiacepinas identificadas con frecuencia fueron el flualprazolam (n=31), el flubromazolam (n=24), el etizolam (n=20) y el clonazolam (n=13).
En cuanto a la contribución relativa de las NSP identificadas en las autopsias en los casos mortales, en 21 casos se consideró que las NSP eran la causa del resultado del suceso; en el 76% de los casos se observó un consumo combinado de bromazolam con opioides o estimulantes como la metanfetamina. La xilacina, el kratom y el clonazolam contribuyeron a un pequeño número de casos post mortem (n=3). La ketamina y el acetilfentanilo contribuyeron a un desenlace fatal en n=2 casos cada uno.
