Customs and PF seize more than 500 kg of cocaine in the Port of Santos

Joint operation was carried out this Wednesday (8). The drug was inside lysine container that would go to Turkey.

Brasilia, 9 February 2017 -The Customs of the Port of Santos, on the coast of São Paulo, in a joint operation with the Federal Police, Federal Revenue and UNODC (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime) seized about 550 kg Of cocaine.

According to the IRS, the drug was packed in 13 bags and six packs in a container loaded with lysine, the amino acid used in animal nutrition, which would go to the Port of Gebze, Turkey, with transfer in the Port of Antwerp, Belgium.

The drug was delivered to the Federal Police Station in Santos, which will continue with the investigations.

Police suspect the use of the criminal technique known as rip-off loading, in which the narcotic is inserted into a regular charge without the owner's knowledge.
